The playing cards

  • A fully playable deck of 54 ultra premium playing cards — with a twist. Every card features a unique, hand-illustrated native Australian bird, along with facts about that species: its size, habitat, distribution, and conservation status. There's also a QR code on each card that links to richer information online including bird calls, defining features, fun facts and more. They work perfectly as a card deck, and they're beautiful enough to frame or keep as a collectors item.

  • We've selected 54 of Australia's most remarkable native birds — incuding the iconic and the species that are quietly facing extinction. A goal of ours when selecting birds to feature in this deck was to create awareness of the species that need our help most.

The deck includes species like the Laughing Kookaburra, Superb Fairywren, Cassowary, Wedge-tailed Eagle, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Noisy Friarbird, Capricorn Yellow Chat, and many more — spanning seabirds, parrots, songbirds, raptors, and everything in between.

Grab a pack and you can explore individual bird pages on our website to learn more about each species.

  • Yes — 100%. The deck follows standard playing card suits and numbering, so any card game you love works perfectly. But these aren't your average playing cards. They're printed on ultra-premium 300gsm card stock, with linen texture and micro air pockets which gives them a genuinely luxurious and silky smooth feel — thick, smooth, and satisfying to shuffle. Many of our customers keep one pack for playing and one for gifting.

  • Yes. Our cards are printed on FSC-certified card stock, which means the paper comes from responsibly managed forests. Our packaging and shipping materials also use recycled and responsibly sourced materials. We're a small operation, but we think carefully about the materials we use — it would feel pretty inconsistent to sell products that celebrate nature while harming it.

    • FSC certified card stock

    • Printed with inks made from natural substances, toxin free

    • A plastic-free and ocean-friendly gift

    • Shipping materials: 100% plastic free, recycled and recyclable FSC certified paper

  • Unlike a standard paper tuck box, our cards come in a sturdy, heavy-duty case designed to survive real life — camping trips, birdwatching walks, the bottom of a bag. It keeps the cards protected and looking great, whether you're heading into the bush or just storing them on a shelf.

    • Keeps cards protected and looking great

    • Enables you to take them out into the bush and keep them better protected

    • Doubles up as a display case - they look great stood up on a shelf!

    • We've all been there — cards that won't fit back in the box, a split tuck box held together with a hair tie, a deck that never quite recovers. Our sturdy travel case solves all of that

  • We wanted the cards to be more than just beautiful — we wanted them to be genuinely useful for anyone curious about Australian birds. The QR code on each card links to a dedicated page on our website where you can hear that bird's call, learn how to spot it, and explore its conservation story in more depth. It's the difference between a pretty card and a proper learning tool.

And no, they don't expire — the codes link directly to our website, which we keep updated

Gifting

  • Pretty much any occasion where you want to give something genuinely thoughtful. They're especially popular as gifts for bird lovers, nature lovers, and wildlife enthusiasts.

They also work beautifully as Christmas gifts, birthday presents, Mother's Day gifts, teacher thank-yous, hostess gifts, and stocking stuffers. Because they support conservation, they're a great choice for anyone who cares about the environment. And because they're hand-illustrated and beautiful, art lovers tend to love them too.

    Perfect for:

    • Nature lovers

    • People that care about Australian Wildlife

    • Hikers and bird watchers

    • Art and design lovers

  • Very much so. The educational content makes them a great tool for getting kids curious about Australian wildlife — and the QR codes linking to bird calls and facts tend to be a hit.

It’s also possible to play Top Trumps and Quick Match games with the cards which provides fun ways for younger children to explore the birds too.

They're wonderful for families who enjoy being outdoors or birdwatching together. We'd suggest them for children aged 5 and up.

  • We don't yet offer gift wrapping through our website, but we are working on it!

Buying a multipack is a great way to give gifts to multiple people. Or keep one and gift the others.

  • Our cards have become a quiet favourite for Australian businesses looking for a corporate gift that's a little more considered — local, eco-friendly, beautiful, and genuinely something people want to keep. They work beautifully as client gifts, event giveaways, team presents, and end-of-year thank-yous — the kind of gift that says something about the values of the business giving it, not just the budget.

We offer discounted rates for bulk orders. Get in touch via our contact page and we'll take it from there.

Conservation & our mission

  • We donate 10% of profits from every sale to Australian wildlife conservation organisations. We also volunteer our time and skills to support these charities directly — it's not just about the money.

Take a look at our Diary of Niceness

  • We support several organisations working to protect Australian wildlife. So far we've donated to BirdLife Australia (working to end bird extinctions), Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre (rescuing and rehabilitating endangered black cockatoos in WA), Australian Seabird and Turtle Rescue (reducing human impact on marine life), and Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital (treating and rehabilitating native wildlife in NSW).

You can read about every donation we've made in our Diary of Niceness: wildlynice.com.au/diary-of-niceness

  • We document our conservation efforts and donations in our Diary of Niceness — a public record of where the money goes, which organisations we've supported, and what it helped fund.

We're a small family business and transparency matters to us. You can read every entry at in our Diary of Niceness

  • Honestly, it started from a place of genuine love for Australian wildlife — and a quiet worry about how much of it is under threat. When we were putting this project together, donating a portion of profits wasn't a marketing decision, it was just the obvious thing to do. If we're going to celebrate these birds, we should be doing something real to help them.

Australia has one of the highest rates of species extinction in the world. Many of the birds in our deck are already listed as threatened or endangered. We're not a big operation, but we believe small, consistent contributions add up — and we document every single donation in our Diary of Niceness so you can see exactly where the money goes.

The goal, simply put, is to use beautiful things to do good things.

  • We're Chris and Lucie — we started Wildly Nice as a side project, squeezed into the gaps between day jobs and family life. The idea was simple: use the skills we have to celebrate Australia's incredible wildlife and do something meaningful to help protect it.

We're a small operation with ambitions that are a little too big for the free time we have. But we care deeply about what we're building, and we're making progress — one pack, one donation, one bird at a time.

We were so surprised by the interest and support for Wildly Nice and we’re excited to create more products in the future.
